No One Wants a Piss-Smelling Camel
I came back from Egypt
The Kings Letter
I recently got back from Egypt. I thought I’d love it. Turns out, it was… fine.
One moment stuck with me.
I was about to take a submarine ride to see the sea life, and while I waited, a guy was offering camel rides. Five dollars to hop on his camel, Oscar.
Here’s the problem.
There wasn’t much space to actually ride the camel.
Oscar reeked of piss and manure.
If anything, I would have paid five dollars for them to take Oscar away from me.
And this is where most people screw up—whether in music, business, or life.
The Hard Truth:
You can’t sell garbage and expect people to buy. The offer has to be good, and the execution has to be better.
The worst part? People think they have a great offer when they don’t. Just like the guy with Oscar thought he was selling a camel ride—except in reality, he was selling an unpleasant, smelly disappointment.
This happens everywhere:
🐪 Some people sell “camel rides” that go nowhere. (Like my friend, who paid for a ride and just sat on a motionless camel. That was it. No walking. No movement. Just sitting.)
🎻 Some musicians think they deserve attention but offer nothing valuable.
💻 Some businesses think people should buy from them, but their website, branding, or product is garbage.
If you’re putting something out into the world, it better not be an Oscar.
What To Do About It:
Make the Offer So Good They Can’t Say No. If I’m paying for a camel ride, I want the full experience—the camel should move. If you’re offering lessons, they better be structured and effective. If you’re selling something, it should actually be worth the price.
Ensure the Execution Is Even Better. A great idea with bad execution is just a wasted opportunity. That’s why I don’t just offer cello lessons—I make sure you get actual results. That’s why I don’t just build websites—I create ones that actually convert visitors into customers.
Test Your Offer in the Real World. You might think what you’re selling is great, but if people aren’t buying, something is off. Fix it or get rid of it. No one wants an Oscar.
Speaking of Offers—Here’s Mine:
If you want to learn the cello or need guidance on practicing more efficiently, book a lesson with me here.
Let’s make sure your playing isn’t just a camel that sits there doing nothing.
